Inter Dominion Champions BLACKS A FAKE and MR FEELGOOD locked horns again over the 1660 journey in the inaugural Rapidvite Be Good Johnny Sprint at Albion Park Raceway.

This time the draws were reversed, but the result and runs in transit were identical.
MR FEELGOOD arrested the lead from WASHAKIE just prior to the first turn, while BLACKS A FAKE though not fired out of the gate made his way to the chair in the early stages.
The first ¼ was again covered in a leisurely 29.0 seconds, the second ¼ in an identical 29.0 (first ½ 58.0), the script from that point on was written for another home straight dog fight – and that is what it was!
Heading into a burly wind up the back the final time the best two pacers in the land covered the third ¼ in 28.3, Natalie Rasmussen had the four times Inter Dominion Champion within a neck of the one time victor at the 400m mark.
Between turns Luke McCarthy held the stallion (who has multiple Australian foals hitting the ground this month) together and the neck margin remained in tact until the top of the straight.
Once entering the straight McCarthy said go and the Little Brown Jug winner quickly drew clear by a length margin, but the tenacious BLACKS A FAKE was not done with yet! He kept coming all the way to the line, but it was MR FEELGOOD who again prevailed by a neck margin.
WASHAKIE was run off his feet in the run to the line after sustaining the run behind the leader throughout to be beaten by 7.50 metres, though he was not disgraced as the last ¼ was covered in a stunning 26.7, the final half in 55 flat, the mile rate a slick 1.52.9, 0.8 of a second outside of his own track record.

Rapidvite representatives Michael Clarke (Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate and Japan Cup winning jockey) and local distributor David Pullman were on hand to present the winning connections with a Rapidvite rug and a 5 litre bottle of Rapidvite product Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). The product was awarded to all placegetters at tonight’s meeting and its hoped that the trainers that received it will have the same success Debbie Quinlan has attributed to the zest and form of top line mare Jazzam.
Team McCarthy took training honours with wins to MR FEELGOOD (Luke), FOREVER AFTER (John/Luke), FLIRT ALERT (John/Simon Jones) and OUR ITALIAN STALLION (John/Luke).
Adam Richardson continued the winning run of first time winners when he was victorious aboard the tough as old boots performer CONNOR PATRICK for trainer and mentor Darrel Graham.
ST MAARTEN was impressive for Shannon Price and Brad Cowen, while GLENFARG (Grant Dixon) and MEGA ALEXANDER (Natalie Rasmussen) provided a double for Bill Dixon, the last event was taken out by GLENBURNS FELLA for Stephen Cini and Rob Martin.
The scene is set for a tremendous Queensland Spring Carnival which next week shifts to the Gold Coat on Friday night for the running of the $75,000 Group 2 Kevin & Kay Seymour Gold Coast Cup before heading back to headquarters in a fortnight’s time for the running of the first Barastoc Grand Circuit event of the year the $200,000 Group 1 Garrard’s Queensland Pacing Championship.
